The day has come and we have arrived in Eldoret. After team members converged in Newark, we endured back to back 7 1/2 hour flights and enjoyed a night at the Methodist guest house in Nairobi. Everyone is in good spirits and the team gets along beautifully.
After a short 45 minute flight from Nairobi to Eldoret today we went directly to the IVC church (International Vision Centre). A well-prepared African buffet dinner left the team content so that we could sort medications, children’s supplies and ministry supplies in preparation for tomorrow’s work.
We are very excited that the groundbreaking for the orphanage will be tomorrow morning. We also will hold a medical clinic and children’s ministry. Most of the team members have already gone to bed. But I sit here in the cool of the African night pondering the work that God has ordained us to do, seeing the Southern Cross, and listening to the crickets and cicadas in the background. We all consider this a blessing, honor and privilege to be here.
