Hi everyone, I’m writing from the Haitian field. Wow, God has already given us favor. It took us two hours to check in close to 100 bags full of medical, ministry and sound system for the people of Quenaminthe, Haiti. Once checked in, we waited for our plane to leave, but no cigar. We waited on the tarmac for close to two hours and no cigar.
Due to a thunderstorm we didn’t fly, and had to return to the terminal for more fuel. When we finally took off, three hours later, we learned our connecting flight in Miami, was waiting for the 49 missionaries (us) flying to Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Thank you Lord.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the rest of the people on the plane felt the same joy. By the time we arrived in Miami and boarded the plane to the DR, the flight crew had gone over its legal time limit and we had to wait for a new crew to fly. Finally, at about 11 p.m., we arrived in the DR and then drove four hours to get to the border hotel in Quenaminthe, Haiti.
Please do not think us nuts when I tell you our hotel name, but who on Earth would place a hotel name as Hotel Masacre, and who would sleep their except Hearts Afire?
Well, thankfully we serve a powerful God who protects all His people. Finally we squeezed into bed at about 5:30 a.m. and are now awake at 10 a.m. and ready to go. Tonight we will have to rearrange the bed situation, since two of us (my size), squeezed into a full-size bed but guess what: 90 percent of people all over the world sleep in worse situations than this.
Well now, thanks, praise, worship and devotions, which is everything our hearts desire, and then off to the clinic. Thank you Lord for who You are and what You do. May we trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all things, so that He can direct our paths. Proverbs 3:4-5.
Speak to you soon …
